Welcome Post

Welcome to Scadbury Park Nature Reserve.

The Park is owned by the London Borough of Bromley. It has been a nature reserve since 1985. Before that, for 600 years, it was the estate of the Lords of the Manor of Scadbury and Chislehurst.

You can walk around the Acorn Trail, visit the moated manor site, enjoy the woods and the open meadows, and see the horses which are at pasture at the farm.

There are 21 numbered posts around the Acorn Trail. You can access information about them all from your smartphone.

Please respect the Reserve, take your memories and photographs with you when you leave, and leave nothing behind.

Some simple countryside rules apply to all nature reserves to make them enjoyable to all:

Respect Other People:

  • consider the local community and other people enjoying the outdoors

  • leave gates and property as you find them and follow paths unless wider access is available

Protect The Natural Environment:

  • leave no trace of your visit and take your litter home

  • keep dogs under effective control

  • do not interfere with wildlife

Enjoy The Outdoors:

  • plan ahead and be prepared

  • follow advice and local signs
